Job Title: Level 1 Swimming Teacher (Self Employed)
Location: Aquanauts Swim School, Sir Thomas Rich’s School, Longlevens, Gloucester
Hours: Friday Evenings, 16:20 - 18:35 (2.25 hours), term time only
Aquanauts Swim School is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Level 1 Swimming Teacher to join our growing team. As a Level 1 Teacher, you will assist in delivering lessons to intermediate swimmers, helping them build confidence and develop fundamental swimming skills. This role is ideal for those looking to further develop their teaching skills in a supportive environment that promotes professional growth in line with Swim England standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in planning and delivering swimming lessons for intermediate swimmers in Stages 3 and 4.
Support the lead instructor in teaching water safety, basic stroke techniques, and swimming fundamentals as per Swim England guidelines.
Help monitor and assess swimmer progress under the guidance of a Level 2 teacher.
Actively supervise swimming sessions, ensuring the safety of all participants by following health and safety regulations.
Encourage a positive and fun learning environment, boosting swimmer confidence and enthusiasm.
Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and swimmers regarding their progress, goals, and any necessary feedback.
Uphold safeguarding and child protection policies at all times.
Requirements:
Swim England Level 1 Teaching Swimming Qualification (or equivalent).
Basic understanding of the Swim England Learn to Swim framework.
A valid Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check is required.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
A passion for swimming and teaching, combined with a friendly and supportive attitude.
Desirable Attributes:
Experience working with children in a teaching or coaching environment.
First Aid and CPR certifications (preferred but not essential).
Willingness to learn and develop teaching skills alongside more experienced instructors.
